The movie, “The Great Gatsby” is a charming and entertaining film that depicts the early years of the great American Depression. The story follows a character, Nick Nolte, who works as a dry cleaner in New York City. He is an older man who looks older than his actual age. Nick had a succession of disappointments in his life, including getting hit by a car, losing a fortune to a con man, and getting burned by the owner of a flea market who tried to poison him. He was eventually fired from his job when President Roosevelt called on all workers to work, or face the consequences.
Nick soon found work cleaning other people’s homes after that failed business. By the end of the war, Nick was earning a good income cleaning mansions around New York. But the money was not steady, and he always longed for something in particular. He wanted to own his own real estate. But he had no idea how to go about doing that, so he turned to his friend, Sam Woll, who was an experienced real estate developer and seller.
Woll suggested that Nick buy a small piece of real estate in New York City, which the two of them had bought previously. It was a trailer home they called The Woll Cottage. Nick was excited by the idea of owning his own real estate, but didn’t know where he wanted to invest.
So he went to consult with Sam Woll again, telling him about his idea. Woll was glad to help Nick, and suggested that he start a real estate investing business, using the Woll Cottage as collateral. Nick was overjoyed! He told Sam that he wanted to open a Woll Cottage Realty.
And there it was, the beginning of one of America’s greatest real estate moguls. Nick was so thrilled that he could start his own company with this one property alone, that he and his wife set up a bank account and started their own Realtor agency. Within a few years, they were buying and selling properties, building their real estate fortune. Eventually, they had several properties, and became very successful. They even had a number one hit song!
So now, what is the great gatsby real estate? Well, let’s face it, the answer is still a mystery to this day. Nick was a great salesman, but without the vision to see where that business was leading him, he couldn’t follow through. Sam Woll saw Nick’s passion and believed in him, so he encouraged him to pursue his dreams. Even if it meant starting a new career path and working from home.
The success of the Woll’s real estate agents was remarkable, but sadly, it was the end of the road for Nick. After a couple of failed ventures, he decided that being an actor was where his passion belonged. But before he could begin to concentrate on acting, he needed to find another way to finance his acting career. In the meantime, he was becoming a very successful real estate agent, but had no idea how to make his first contract.
This is where the book all was written about, in the case of The Great Gatsby by Donald Trump. We all know what Nick was going through when he wrote this novel, so you don’t need me to tell you what a great role model he was. His real estate agent career was the beginning of what lead to the American dream, and with his hard work and determination he was able to realize that dream. If you are looking for a novel that will make you think, wonder, and question, then this is the one to read. It is a great novel, and one that will make you excited about the future of real estate.
